Senior Technical Sales Support Specialist

A challenging, full time field opportunity for an experienced professional, with a technical background in inkjet labels, color, networking, remote configuration, and technical pre-sales, to become a part of a dynamic business within the Seiko Epson Corporation. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in these applicable fields. Current G7 certification will be an advantage. This position will cover the United States and Canada and can be located anywhere in the United States. The position involves approximately 50% travel, but could be more extensive at certain peak times and during trade shows. A major responsibility will include demonstrating the Epson Label solutions to customers.


  • Collaborative to assist the Sales team in sales growth to our Label Dealers and Customers.
  • Pre-Sales support to:
    • Document understanding of requirement, timelines for installation and requests for customer site preparation conformance.
    • Make suggestions regarding workflow/ process improvements for proposed solutions.
    • Uncover existing issues that may bar success of the sale or installation
    • Identify with key personnel for pre-sales success and clear, proactive, ongoing communication.
  • Pre and Post Sales interaction should include advanced skills in the construction of customer technical proposals and negotiation of paths forward for installation and troubleshooting.
  • Trade Show support.
  • Cultivate strong dealer self-sufficiency to drive their business through proactive knowledge sharing/ training. The applicant should have clear and convincing presentation skills.
  • Liaison with other Technical Sales Support Specialist members, Sales team, Product management, internal support groups to improve Epson offerings to the dealer and end user.
  • Rapid resolution of customer concerns.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technical color and workflow role, with a focus on printing technology.
  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of color, workflow and technical sales.
  • Valid passport and driving license with the unrestricted ability to travel.

Preferred Skills

  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Expertise with Bartender, TekLynx, Nicelabel, and Loftware.
  • Working knowledge of spectrophotometry and the instrumentation involved.
  • Must be adept at communication by reading, writing and interpretation of technical information.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • The use of data collection software for customer interaction logging.
  • Working knowledge of typical workflow software/ RIPS.
  • Knowledge of label printing substrates and their application.
