Principal Accountabilities

In addition to complying with Epson's policies and procedures, the main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Product Registration:

  • Validate the tax classification of new product registration forms in coordination with the customs broker and the tax department.

Customs Management and Imports:

  • Coordinate the entire customs clearance process with the customs broker.
  • Ensure compliance with customs legal regulations for the entry of goods into the country.
  • Oversee import documentation from origin.
  • Coordinate product homologation with the MTC (Ministry of Transport and Communications).
  • Verify documents related to shipments sent by EAI/SEC.
  • Monitor the status of each import process using information provided by the customs broker’s website/report to update entry forecasts in the GAP system and take preventive actions.
  • Maintain control of KPIs, lead times, and import process costs, based on monthly meetings with service providers (freight forwarders, carriers, and terminals) to meet established goals.
  • Plan and confirm the loading and delivery of containers released at the port with air carriers in the receiving areas.
  • Respond to foreign trade regulatory authorities regarding import/export documentation requests.
  • Coordinate urgent air shipments and intercompany processes with different subsidiaries.

Exportation:

  • Schedule goods collection with carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Issue documents (Invoice, Packing List, and Shipment Advice) for clearance and send them to the exporter.

Costing and Goods Release:

  • Control local costs associated with importation (transportation, clearance, documentation).
  • Ensure goods are entered into the SAP system with full costing (FOB + local expenses) within 48 hours after clearance.

Import Expense Reconciliation:

  • Perform a monthly review of all payments related to processes not entered into inventory at month-end, using the GAP system, and send the reconciliation account, advances, and import expenses to the Finance and Tax departments.

Key Requirements

  • Completed university degree in fields related to foreign trade or international business.
  • 2+ years of experience in import roles – experience with technology and/or electronic products is desirable.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
  • Intermediate English (preferred).
