You are a Top Notch Strategic Thinker:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Scanner product portfolio through analysis of market data, market trends and customer insights
  • Generate and champion product level recommendations, including market requirements, market segmentation, distribution channels and communication strategies
  • Support strategic business planning decisions to hit high-level goals, including setting of share targets, price positioning and promotional strategy
  • Build and manage strategic ISV (Independent software vendor) partnerships in order to become the recommended manufacturer partner for scanning solutions

You are a Master at Product Marketing:

  • Engage with a parent company Seiko Epson Corporation (SEC) regarding product development, product requirements and pricing, and competitive positioning
  • Drive primary market research targeted at uncovering customer insights, competitive gaps and emerging trends
  • Understand market and technology trends and fold in to product feature recommendations

You are a Highly Seasoned Product Manager:

  • Manage assigned product(s) to unit, revenue and gross profit targets
  • Oversee and refine structured processes for product launches for assigned product(s)
  • Develop and provide guidance for positioning, pricing, and promotion of assigned product(s)
  • Engage with Marketing Communications, Documentation, Service/Support, Logistics, Japan headquarters and other groups to manage the product(s) throughout its lifecycle
  • Provide direction to advertising and merchandising teams regarding product positioning via formal product brief and launch process
  • Support the sales team in preparing assortment decisions and in making account presentations and growth recommendations, as well as driving strategic growth plans for key channel partners
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive the agenda for assigned product(s), including senior management in the US and Japan, sales team, and at PR events and tradeshows
  • Contribute to market analysis, market sizing and forecasting conducted by internal strategy group(s)

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.), an MBA with a marketing emphasis is highly preferred
  • Previous supervisory and leadership experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, managing products through entire product lifecycle
  • Scanner, printer or software background are preferred but not a must
  • Strong market analysis, project management, marketing communications and strategic planning skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in solving complex problems while balancing multiple objectives
  • Ability to sell ideas through cohesive and creative presentations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to persuade across organizational lines inside and outside the company
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of time
