The Systems Development Manager is responsible for supporting Epson’s essential business functions for established area of responsibility within the high profile portfolio of web B2B and B2C business systems (including associated 3rd party systems) across the Americas and 13 countries across Asia and Europe, by developing, implementing, and maintaining, and ensuring optimum system performance, efficiency and availability of all production systems per established service level agreements, and successfully implementing new business systems initiatives as assigned within required scope, cost, and time frame parameters.

 

This position can be remote, or you can work a hybrid schedule out of Epson America's headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA.

 

Principal Accountabilities
In addition to the following Epson's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

System Strategy

  • Provides information for the development of IS Strategic Plans.
  • Participates in the identification of organizational capability requirements (e.g., resources, skill sets, organizational structure) to meet evolving business needs.
  • Collaborates with users in the recommendation and selection of projects that have the highest company benefit based on company objectives and available IS resources.
  • Keep current with technology trends and their impact to the organization.

 

System Management

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of systems within area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring availability 24/7 in support of external customers and businesses.
  • Plans and assures the success of all assigned systems projects by providing input into development of the general systems plan. 
  • Ensures the success of each project by overseeing system development phases.   
  • Ensuring that agreed-upon project success criteria are met.                                                    
  • Coordinating and assisting in creation of user acceptance test plans and execution.                  
  • Ensures ongoing communication within IS and with business operations (e.g., user review meetings for milestone sign-off, obtaining user feedback, reporting on project status).
  • Oversees the tracking and maintenance of production software systems.

 

Disaster Recovery Planning

  • Responsible for the development and coordination of the Epson IS Disaster Recovery Plan and associated annual testing.

Relationship Management 
1.  Responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, developing group/department personnel.
2.  Provides coaching and mentoring to team members.
3.  Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problem issues (that require escalation).
4.  Builds strong relationships with peers and Senior Managers to best meet company goals and objectives.
5.  Manages and leverages relationships with vendors for a specific product/service (best price, best product, etc).
6.  Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations.

 

Department Management
1.  Operates within budgetary constraints, participates in the development of annual budget forecasts; participates in updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required.
2.  Develops and maintains written departmental standards and procedures.
3.  Directly contributes to development of tactical and annual operating plans, defining goals and objectives for the group.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Requires Experience at an intermediate level (7-10 years)
  • Five or more years of previous leadership experience managing small teams.
  • Completion of an undergraduate program or equivalent experience (B.A. or B.S.)
  • 7+ years SAP Hybris experience, including hands-on configuration and project management. 
  • Experience leading a team including direct reports and being responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, developing group/department personnel.
  • Experience implementing systems.
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce and hybris business practices and processes required to support a multi-language/global web site. 

 

 

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $183,171 and $237,045. Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
