You will be responsible for a full range of duties as assigned, working independently, applying well developed accounting knowledge, and exercising judgment and initiative while supporting the Accounting Managers with various accounting, financial and operational analysis and reporting.
    
This position will be based out of Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA office with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.


What you will be doing:

 

General Accounting – Support to Manager

  • Working knowledge of SAP software related to processing and managing Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Bad Debt, Accrued Expenses, Sales Returns, Sales Incentives, and other areas as required.
  • Thorough knowledge and practice of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Responsible for appropriate accounting and recording of all cash transactions.
  • Responsible for Unclaimed Property tracking, due diligence, and coordinating preparation of escheatment filings with outside consultants, for all applicable states.
  • Responsible for completing assigned portions of monthly and other periodic reporting packages for Seiko Epson Corporation (SEC). 
  • Support with coordinating data submitted by EAI subsidiaries for inclusion in reports.
  • Participates with internal and external audit functions and preparation of requested PBC schedules, including fluctuation analysis for areas assigned.  Support to preparation of footnotes for the annual financial statements.
  • Identifies and recommends best practices related to general accounting, reporting, and other projects.
  • Support to planning and forecasting, as required.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Financial Analysis and Reporting 

  • Reconciles various general ledger accounts, prepares account reconciliations, independently resolves issues promptly, and escalates issues requiring investigation.
  • Provides regular financial analysis and regular reporting of assigned areas within required timelines.
  • Prepares monthly journal entries to identify, prepare and record necessary accruals and activity in assigned accounts.
  • Timely and accurate month-end close and reporting.
  • With limited direction, provide analysis and ad-hoc reporting to internal customers and Senior Management.
  • Responsible for completing assigned portions of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting package and reports for SEC (Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Bad Debt, Accrued Expenses, Sales Returns, Sales Incentives, and other areas as required).
  • Ensures that system-generated reports and downloads for assigned areas are complete, accurate, and useful in analysis and journal entry preparation; provides recommendations for reporting enhancements.
  • Internal Controls and Business Analysis
  • Develop and implement efficient accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Analyzes the adequacy of internal controls for financial reporting and safeguarding of assets.
  • Makes recommendations to improve internal controls and assists in implementation. 

 

Relationship Management

  • Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with team members, peers, cross-functional departments, and managers to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

 

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Accounting, Finance, or Business with Finance focus)
  • Advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
  • Experience with BI reporting and analysis, Analysis for Office preferred
  • Experience with Power BI dashboards a plus

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $88,014 and $119,596. Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
