Epson America, Inc., a provider of best-in-class digital image capture and output solutions, is seeking a talented Senior Technical Writer to join our team of award-winning service and support specialists. The ideal candidate must have the ability to quickly synthesize and create technical content into clearly understandable training material for service training. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with our cutting-edge, component content management and publishing system. What you will be doing:

  • Provide clear, accurate, and understandable content in a variety of formats (html, pdf, and print). 
  • Research, write, format, edit, and proofread service training content including, but not limited to, field service repair guides, eLearning courses, and related video script.
  • Edit technical content and service manuals received from parent company.
  • Use DTP software and our content management and publishing system to develop documentation for print and online distribution. Should be proficient in the use of FrameMaker templates or structured documentation. 
  • Track project schedules from other service teams through technical review, publication, and archiving.
  • Work collaboratively with service team, writers, product managers, support specialists, and other key stakeholders. 
  • Communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders in project management meetings.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of technical or business writing experience, preferably with a focus on training documentation.
  • Must be highly organized and possess exceptional time management skills, with the ability to effectively juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Practical knowledge of FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign or other DTP tools; knowledge of Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator, Oxygen XML editor, or DreamWeaver a plus.
  • Knowledge of web-based content management and publishing systems highly desired.
  • Strong technical background, including a solid understanding of large format printing devices is desired.
  • Knowledgeable about online media trends and how they can be used for service training and documentation. 
  • Demonstrated experience documenting hardware products.   
  • Experience creating interactive or multimedia enhanced documents a plus.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a deadline driven environment.
  • B.A. or M.A. in English or Journalism, or B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience

 

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $78,081 and $107,362. Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
