Epson, a $10B global leader in high-quality consumer electronics, imaging, and point of sale printing devices, is seeking an exceptional Tax Manager to join our Finance team.  
With operations in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and Latin America, as well as business conducted with its parent company in Japan, Epson encounters a broad range of domestic and international tax issues that will allow the right candidate to grow their tax skills in a collaborative environment.  

 

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing key parts of the corporate tax function, including planning, provisions, compliance, transfer pricing, and audit defense.  The Tax Manager will collaborate on projects with the U.S. and foreign companies within the consolidated group to ensure compliance with requirements and develop ideas for savings.  The position will also support Epson business divisions with optimizing the tax impacts of new operations and initiatives.

 

This position will be based out of Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with a hybrid schedule.  At Epson, our hybrid schedule is only 6 days per month.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Income tax provisions and other tax accruals for multiple U.S. and foreign corporations
  • Income tax compliance including consolidated U.S. federal, multi-state, and Canada
  • Transfer pricing planning, calculations, documentation, and filings for the group companies
  • Defense of Epson’s tax filings under Federal and state audits
  • Tax research for compliance positions, planning ideas, savings opportunities, risk management, and to support Epson business divisions
  • Manage requests to support the Japanese parent company with their tax requirements
  • Forecasts and budgets for taxes and tax consulting fees
  • Support the indirect tax functions, including sales tax and property tax

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years corporate tax experience in a large corporation, CPA firm, or combination of both
  • Completion of CPA certification
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in accounting or related subject
  • Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
  • Intermediate level experience or above with Excel  
  • Experience with SAP and OneSource income tax return software preferred  
  • Ability to work with multiple corporations and jurisdictions in a detail-oriented manner
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments and different levels of management

 

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $129,530 and $170,007. Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
